Of all the banners, it is most difficult to know when to bring this one out, probably because its message is one of intercession rather than worship. It came from the verse in 1 Kings 18:41 - I hear the sound of the abundance of rain. This was also the verse that was first preached at the Grimsby camp meetings in 1859. Pastor Terry Bone felt that this verse also applied to us at Lakemount Worship Centre. The banner was created and first used during a prayer meeting held on the same site as the 1859 camp meetings in the Grimsby Beaches area. The rainbow is reminds us of God’s promises and how He is faithful to them. The rain is only falling lightly in the banner - it isn’t abundant yet. The wheat fields are not fully ripe, that is why some are golden and others are still green. The people rising from the wheat fields represent the coming harvest and the intercession needed to bring it to pass. |
