Inner Healing and Transformation
A key to fulfilling many of God's purposes

God's purposes are of greater magnitude and importance than comforting and healing individual lives (important as that is!).Inner healing and transformation are keys to the success of many things which are truly God's calling and emphases in the Body of Christ today: RENEWAL - God's sovereign outpouring of love goes hand in hand with inner healing. The more love we experience the more we are capable of dealing with the hurtful and negative things still lodged in our hearts. The more we allow the things lodged in our hearts to be taken to the Cross through forgiveness and repentance, the more we are able to experience God's love. It is the belief of many in the renewal movement that without inner healing and transformation, the renewal will not last.

SPIRITUAL WARFARE - Without inner healing and transformation we may be running out onto the battlefield carrying a lot of baggage from our childhood, and with great gaping holes in our armor.

INTERCESSION - Intercession begins in the heart of God. We respond to His call, and invite Him to do what He has already purposed to do. We must be able to hear His voice in order for us to determine what He calls us to pray about. Without sufficient cleansing and healing of our hearts, we will see and hear inaccurately with unhealed eyes and ears.

DELIVERANCE - Without inner healing to bring to death the character structures within us which serve as a house for the demonic, we may be delivered from the demon's influence, but the demon may return later with seven worse than himself, as Jesus Himself warned (Matt. 12.43).

UNITY - Ephesians 2:20-22 speaks of the whole building being fitted together, growing into a holy temple in the Lord - built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit. Ephesians 4:3 calls us to be diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:12 speaks of the equipping of the saints for building up the Body of Christ till we all attain to unity of faith - to a mature man. We are to speak the truth in love, to grow up into Christ, in whom the whole body, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. Ephesians 4:22-24 says we are to lay aside the old self, put on the new self in God's likeness, and be renewed in the spirit of our mind - which is what the ministry of inner healing and transformation is about.

RECONCILIATION - in families, among friends, between tribes and nations - necessitates repentance and forgiveness, the very essence of inner healing and transformation.

EVANGELIZATION - In John 17, Jesus prayed that we be perfected in unity that the world may know that God sent Him. We are the message. We must be healed to represent Him well. Thousands are being converted today, and are asking, "Now what?" Many are hanging onto the old as well as embracing Christ, just to cover all their bases. We must disciple them - bring healing and transformation to them so they can grow up in their salvation.

JESUS IS COMING FOR A BRIDE - ONE, not a harem of brides. His bride must be a resting place for her husband - Psalm 32:4,5,8. She must be a beautiful ONE. She is being cleansed and prepared now.
